Hitch was heading down the right wing path when he died. I wouldn't have been surprised if he had ended up on that side of politics today. Sagan on the other hand was dyed-in-the-wool leftie.

Okay so I may have been mistaken about his politics. Thanks for making me actually go look. I still don't agree with the idolisation that he gets from some in the antitheist crowd - his book was one of the reasons why I left that particular cause. Not the only reason, but one of them.
