Thereś a place in the hills that look like an archeological museum, artifacts everywhere. No people, no thieving.

Been in South America 5 1/2 weeks, first day of bad weather. Winter, windy, cloudy, six degrees C/ 42 F. So I built a fire.

Should be nice again starting day after tomorrow. But fuck, our trip is half over.

Chile and Argentina topping the list.

Please keep the photos coming!
Sorry I haven´t really posted that many photos. FL and I aren´t covering a lot of territory, weŕe actually under 350 miles from Calama, Chile, where our road trip started. Aside from checking out the sights we are both generally thinking along the lines of ¨would I want to live/spend more time here¨. So far itś not really even close, it is Argentina where weŕe making plans for returning to next year.

Though itś low season there are still tourists about. Probably around 99.9% Argentinian. About the only English I´ve heard since we got here to the Tilcara area - aside from the FL - was a musician at an outdoor patio restaurant singing ¨Hit the Road, Jack¨.

Went to a place yesterday that requires you be with a local guide, Las Señoritas:

https://www.antiguatilcara.com.ar/en/qu ... a-hornocal

We were a group with seven youngsters in their twenties from the south of Argentina along with our guide. It´s a higher altitude here than there and one of the women had a small bag of coca leaves she shared and, of course, I had to try.

We´re already acclimated, not sure if that had much to do with me feeling pretty much no effect.
