life's little aggravations

Post by stanky »

i'll go first:

Packaging.

Why is packaging so great that you need power tools to open an envelope?
The stuff inside isn't too great, but we really know how to wrap it.
I wrestle with it almost daily. It causes me to use bad language.

You're not wrong - some of the crap we buy comes in clear plastic that needs a Stanley knife to get into it.

Crazy.

Stanly knife at the ready here too!

It's to disocurage shoplifting I think but some of the stuff they package is hardly worth the cost of the plastic it comes in.

What happens when the new Stanley knife is wrapped in the packaging?

They are!

They use the same weapons-grade plastic to package them.

That's why you always buy a new one just before the old one wears out, so its last gasp is to re-birth itself.

The first one I ever bought didn't need no stinking plastic.

Some of my aggravations:

People standing in line at the convenience store eating their food, LOUDLY, before they have paid for it.

People on their phone at the checkout counter who can't pause their conversation for a moment to interact with the sales clerk.

People talking on the phone while using the toilet.

People wearing patchouli oil in public.

People driving around the crossing gates as my train approaches because they think it's worth risking their lives to not have to wait a minute for me to pass.

People taking photos while standing on the tracks.

People.

I'll throw in:

People who reverse into carparks. They make people wait for them, so they don't have to wait to back out.

People who use their phone on speaker - which appears to be almost everyone.

People who sit at green lights because they're texting while the light's red then don't realise it's changed.

The use of "very/very, very/completely/etc, with "unique". It's like quantifying dead.

That's disgusting, and disgustingly common. Many times I've rung people only to hear them expelling things from their body. The worst I had was one bloke who answered his phone inbetween bouts of vomiting. Needless to say, he did not get the job.

And/or take up two parking spaces when they do.
