Meanwhile, in Oz

Post by Di Wundrin »

What are the odds that when this woman sees this footage she vows never to go even close to a beach ever again??

Imagine finding out how close that thing was to you on the 7PM News!

Yeah, I saw that on the news.

What it shows is how often it happens and the shark isn't interested. Just as well, really.

Considering the amount of chemicals we tote, internally, as well as all the noxious fumes from skin lotions, shaving creams, sunburn cream etc you could see why we wouldn't be most popular pick from the smorgasbord.

One good thing about a lot of shark sightings is that it scares a few more people out of doing stupid things in the surf and drowning.

From memory the first week clocked up drowned 6 - sharks nil, but that was just the beaches, people are remaining submerged in rivers and pools all over the country this year. Still mostly tourists.

Tourists hardly ever drown here, it's all locals.

We're running at the usual one a day so far this summer, but a fraction of the road kill. People seem to have forgotten hos to drive and are offing themselves at rates not seen since about the 1970s.

Ummmm, if you're trvelling in WA any time soon just keep a look out for a tiny shiny capsule the size of an Aspro in the dust on a 1,400 km stretch of dirt road, shouldn't be hard to spot. Just call the cops and they'll drop by and pick it up .Thanks.
...oh and DON'T TOUCH IT!

couldnt make this stuff up . It 'fell of the back of a truck' !?? :o

Yeah, that'll be easy to spot.

How dangerous can it really be? That's a minute amount.

"Today, Zempilas made it clear that it was not the same crowd who enjoyed the family fireworks show at Langley Park."
Oh well that's okay then. :D

Dunno what's happening to the average Aussie, they used to hold their booze better'n that.

The radioactive scare has run dead today. Probably they got the message he everybody laughed about the size of it. It'l probablky fry some curious bird and end up Christ knows where. Shouldn't be a problem due to the square milage of absolutely nothing in that that region.

That'd bring the tourists in.

Do wonders for the omelet industry too.

It wouldn't be beyond the realms for an emu to swallow it. A lot of birds swallow pebbles for digestion, and emus swallow quiite big stones, you can hear them banging around in their gut when you're close to them. Not that proximity is recommended without a fence between.

But they''re also anybody's for anything shiny. They focus on something glinting and just go for it!
They'll rip your buttons off, steal the spectacles off your face, and remove and swallow your watch if they get the chance. ,
