Expect a lot more Americans there - we're seeing record numbers of Yanks applying to move here, and we'd be well down the list.

That might be the whole plan - get dissenters to move out and retain power forever.

Back in a little colonial town we found in 2017. Outside our window is a scenic spot where Colombiano tourists want their picture taken...

Most Americans leaving the United Snakes are too timid to come to Colombia, it still has a repution from the Escobar days.

But Colombian people tend to be extremely gracious and open assuming you look them in the eye and act normal, talk to them. Though it´s true things are a little dicey now in North Santander right now by the border with Venezuela:

This tiny town, Playa de Belén looks so fucking cool, was to have been our first place to go for awhile. Incredible rock formations.

But it is only a couple hundred kilometers from the city that people are fleeing to from the border area, mountainous as hell, a five hour drive to Playa de Belén. Seems far enough but FL didn want to immediately jump into a remote area with possible refugee issues.

So we drove the other way from Bucaramanga - the city we flew into from Cartagena - to Barichara. Couldn´t be quieter here, little house on the right where we are for about three weeks.
