Anti-vaxer is a term that gets tossed around too much. I've been called it, and i know what i'm not.
As you know, there is inherent danger in vaccines. For the 'pandemic', protocols were broken. I think the facts are available. That wasn't normal. No point in debating it. I think it was an engineered virus and a crappy drug.
It's of little significance. It moved a lot of money around. Alienated half this country. Ruined trust.

No there isn't. There is a small amount of inherent risk, which is not the same thing. But the risk is negligible, especially when compared to the alternative - potentially deadly disease.

Oh man. By reacting to the first thing I saw I missed all the other fail in that post.

No, protocols were not broken. They were accelerated. It was not an engineered virus. The mRNA vaccines contained small molecules that could be used by cells to manufacture proteins that the immune system's antibodies could recognise. It wasn't a "crappy drug", it was a tremendously effective public health measure that by most estimations saved millions of lives.

And the only half of the country that it alienated was the stupid half who didn't understand basic science.

Not only that - in years to come, mRNA vaccines will be seen at the same level of leap forward that penicillin was.

Within 5 years, we will have vaccines for most types of cancer. Clinical trials are already under way for the most-lethal form of lung cancer, and if we can knock that bastard off, cancer is over. A drug which cures cancer and doesn't cause the horrific side effects that chemotherapy does. They already won the Nobel Prize for it, and it's going to save billions of lives.

Far too dangerous to use on humans.

I still really like this XKCD which explains how mRNA vaccines work.

Dreamy stuff, but meaningless. Our new habit of spewing toxic and novel chemicals all over everything is what brought us cancer. Vaccine's gonna clear out all that poison from what we eat and drink and breathe?

What the fuck does it even mean, to save billions of lives. Save for what? For how long? How does that work?
Any magic thinking involved? What should people die from? Not die? Then go to Jupiter's moons?

And what's not to get, about concern for corruption, in the hands of companies that haven't earned any trust?
Or coupled with a corrupt government.
A mandatory vaccine, if there were evil people, would be the greatest way ever to manipulate a populace.
It needs extra protection... like a nuke arsenal.
You're parroting propaganda, not thinking critically. Being a zealot for something not thought out; being a chump.

But that's nothing against vaccines in general. I'm a fan. But not that last one. Or the pandemic.

What the vaccine is claiming to do is based on a hypothetical scenario. It will keep you from hospitalization. How would we know that? It'l keep us safe from tiger attacks.
How long can you dodge the lab leak?

It's pointless banter. There was censorship. There was lack of transparency. From a company that had just been fined a record breaking amount for fraud in regards to a drug they were promoting. So, sure. Trust them.
It didn't do what vaccines are supposed to do. But keep taking it anyway? When does it get absurd? Boosters every month?

It did do what vaccines are supposed to do - curb the catastrophic spread of infection throughout the population. It's largely thanks to vaccines that when you get COVID now, it's a very mind strain that will give you a cough for a few days, rather than one that will put you in hospital or kill you.

And not all of the COVID vaccines were mRNA, by the way.

Since when has there been any suggestion of such a thing? It is, as you say, absurd.

Idiotically, and predictably, conflating two unrelated subjects.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amWhat the fuck does it even mean, to save billions of lives. Save for what? For how long? How does that work?
Simple arithmetic - I'm not surprised it's beyond you.

10 million people die from cancer every year. If they're not dying from cancer, they will have had their lives extended.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amAny magic thinking involved? What should people die from? Not die? Then go to Jupiter's moons?
It's nice of you to confirm you don't understand the simplest concept. Of course they'll die, but they'll die later than they would have.

I'm sure you'd much rather have 6-year-olds dying from leukemia and 30-year-olds dying from bowel cancer and not giving them such dangerous chemicals.

I'm even going to dignify that shit with an answer. It's pathetic.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amBut that's nothing against vaccines in general. I'm a fan. But not that last one. Or the pandemic.
Lack of understanding noted.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amWhat the vaccine is claiming to do is based on a hypothetical scenario. It will keep you from hospitalization. How would we know that?
Because some of us can do maths.

The difference in mortality pre- and post-vaccine is so glaringly obvious even a moron would recognise it. It says a lot about your inbuilt bias that you fail to see it.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amIt'l keep us safe from tiger attacks.
It's sad that I'm not surprised you'd make such an idiotic statement. I had some respect for you at one stage.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amHow long can you dodge the lab leak?
Nice to see you're so far down the rabbit-hole you now consider it factual that it was a lab leak in spite of enormous evidence to the contrary. Again, my surprise is completely absent.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 am It didn't do what vaccines are supposed to do. But keep taking it anyway?
Au contraire, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. Deaths among vaccinated people are almost non-existent.
stanky wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:23 amWhen does it get absurd? Boosters every month?
Six months is fine. Please don't waste medical resources by getting them yourself.

And back to actual politics, I see there's finally a poll reflecting what's going to happen on Tuesday - Harris will win Iowa, a state Trump won in 2020.

I'm not sure whether it's a landslide or tsunami, but she's going to sweep that vile cunt into the dustbin of history.

With any luck, he'll get so worked up losing to a nigger whore* that his brain will explode.

*You know that's what he calls her in private.

I share your hope that what you say comes to pass. A world without Mango is uplifting and hopeful. Plus, I'm just damned sick and tired of hearing about the sonofabitch and his spawn.

A few more days will tell. :D
