As an aside... looks like it was a General Electric MRI, built in Waukesha, WI, same exact place where my brother worked as an engineer until he retired, Right after that my sisters and I came to realize he had dementia, posterior cortical atrophy.
He was a real hermit.Tried communicating with some of his old coworkers, friends... no luck. He had been a brilliant guy and I was curious how long it had been apparent how seriously he was beginning to slip cognitively, I saw Dennis maybe once every year or so at the time.
Kind of wondered if any bad MRI machines had slipped through. Had an MRI myself last year, had to check to see if it was a GE.

my big sis recently croaked from Alzheimer's. Ghastly way to go. It was during covid lock-down times so we couldn't see her. she was 10 years older; Beat gen; crazy smart person. Was fine until a few years ago. Hope i find an exit before that happens to me. My memory seems extra shitty lately, but i think it's the weed. When i quit ethanol and nicotine, i upped my weed consumption to pre-Rastafarian levels; consequently walk around stoned a lot, looking for something i forgot.

How old was your sister?

10 years older than me, and i'm older than Tom Waites. Down to one sibling.
codgers are like the walking dead. i look at my friends and wonder who's next. There's a bunch of folks we only see at funerals. codgers tend not to travel. too much hassle. too little draw. but they'll show at a funeral. always amazes me how much food is involved at the solemn event. it's like rubbing it in to the recently departed whom can't eat. Folks often mention how so and so is up there, looking down, in a better place...except there's no comfort food up there. So it's kind of rude, i think.

Odd.
When I was in Germany, I saw even urinals in private homes.

I remember piss troughs at the bar in the early 80s in Mexico. Go in a place like that with a woman and you´d be shown the door.

not to brag, but i've been in many piss-trough bars in the U.S. Some time back. maybe they're gone.
wouldn't mind having one of them, long cast-iron with drain...i'd grow stuff in it.

They're everywhere here in Australia. The most common form of urinal, especially in older facilities, is the trough.
Just don't eat the lozenges.

Too late.
