Ogoh-ogoh get paraded around the day before Nyepi, the day of silence Balinese celebrate every year. Ogoh-ogoh are meant to fuck with the bad spirits' heads, one time I asked a Balinese friend what bad spirits look like and he frowned and said: "like ghosts, only taller".

Yesterday off trail, way in the back of a canyon in
Valley of Fire state park in Nevada spotted a big wall with some natural black varnish, favored medium for old petroglyhs.
About shit my pants when I spotted something odd through the binoculars, but up close...
