Knowing that death awaits us all is a good tool for making the doom feel less personal. Yes, everything we have will be taken from us; the total rip-off that will happen might mitigate the significance of all the little rip-offs; make us more fluid and flexible; braver, even.

Sparks can't hear me, but some of the ex-pat scenes in Mexico are so Americanized that there's not much cultural exchange and it becomes more like pure exploitation by the ugly American looking for maid service not affordable in Arizona.
Might be more fun to have something to offer; a service of sorts. Wanting to meet Mexicans and learning the language is an alternative to finding a place where everyone speaks English and oozes entitlement. They build walls around themselves and the towns to keep out Mexico, basically.

Less wealth; more freedom might be appealing. Like, "what's in it for them" might be a question to consider.
Best thing about Mexico?
Mexicans.

Take Pres' advice and get yourself down to Mexico.

Aside from the cheaper life, think of all the senoritas! Pretend to be rich and they'll be falling over themselves to get into bed with you.

Fuck, I might move there myself!
There was a phenomenon in San Miguel that took me by surprise: young women from Mexico City (about three hours away) coming up to San Miguel on the weekends to hang out in the beautiful main plaza and pick up gringo guys.
Thinking about this I remember my old buddy, Aldo. A Canadian/Italian guy who had destroyed his hearing from being around drilling equipment in Canada for too long. He retired to San Miguel, kind of a reticent guy, but sometimes we go together to expat parties in San Miguel where he would gravitate to women just a little bit older than him, there are lots of older unattached expat women in San Miguel.

Thing about his hearing loss was that he had learned to read lips very well, made him seem very attentive, he got more pussy than Frank Sinatra.

stank incorrectly noted: "Sparks can't hear me,"

Oh, I hear you stank. I simply, generally speaking, do not wish to reply.

Yet they pale into insignificance against RFK Jr in health and Musk in some kind of overlord position.
Hannibal Lecter as the head of the Food and Drug Administration?

Given Trump's use of Hannibal in his rallies, I'm sure that would be his pick if he were a real bloke.

If he gets all three passed by the Senate, look out, US citizens might be foolish not to have their passports in order.
My wife is strongly recommending I renew my Irish passport. She isn't convinced a US passport will be enough to get out of the country.

I'll probably do it. I don't expect to need it, but it can't do any harm.

You are assuming he knows Hannibal is fictional.
