George Hayter was an artist who worked in the 19th Century, producing many famous portraits, including several of Her Majesty Queen Victoria. She was so enamoured of him in fact that she knighted him and named him her Principle Painter.

But when she asked him what inspired him to paint, he replied "Your majesty, you are my sole inspiration."

The Queen was horrified, exclaiming "We are not a muse!"
