Seems quite possible that the repubs could shift the other way as they find their feet after trump.
If you see trump's crowd's reaction to bobby k's endorsement speech, they were cheering social welfare and pro-environment sound bites, dressed with taking down the corporate control and other lefty talking points.
Bobby was dissing the war machine and the secrecy while trump did cheer leading.

it's all apt to change with the fashions.

A staple of youtube videos over the last couple of years has been a school board meeting recording where someone starts reading a book and is asked to stop because the content is too explicit for that setting. The point they are making by reading the book is so obvious that no one ought to pretend not to understand it.
