trump off the CO ballot

Typical Rethuglicunt.
Re: trump off the CO ballot
i recall being vaguely proud of Kennedy for banging MM.
when Bobby followed suit, it was obvious...
all 3 had to die
(joking)
what's peculiar (to me) is the disconnect between the media feed-back loop and the 'reality' of our prudery.
You'd think we were way touchier regarding anything sexual than we were 30 years ago. I think the opposite is true. Maybe the kids can't watch tv shows with racist undertones, but they can watch people fuck in truly bizarre positions, anytime, anywhere. We've been de-sensitized to the scandelousness of yesteryear. Who gives a shit.
Clinton disappointed me for the cheesy lying, but more for the desperation he must have had, going for women unworthy of presidential 'affections'. Shouldn't the president be empowered with sexual gratification? We expect them to be commanding, not weasely. Paula Jones? Really?
Trump, at least, got a porn star and paid out the ass for it. That's vaguely admirable? He's like 'good people' around here. 88% of the voters in my county like Trump's honest lying better than Biden's lying lies and hidden agendas.
i think they miss the part wherein Trump's a part of the old machinery. Probably has the same 'vision' as Biden. None.

Oh, Mango has a vision you betcha. He wants to be Dictator for life. And if he actually achieves that, he'll be assassinated. On the other hand, how much longer can the fucking creep live? Not long I would guess. And how much damage can he do in that time? Plenty is my guess, like starting WWIII. The shit-for-brains is dangerously irresponsible. Unfit for the office. Not the first time it's happened, but the other occasions are so far removed in history that no one knows of them as people can barely read anymore in this waste land of a country. Too busy surfing porn and the stock exchanges on the webz.
You know, the really productive shit. Like Elon Musk! Wants to put peeps on Mars real soon. Of course he won't be going himself... He's got to stay home and figure out why Tesla is tanking. But he'll go down in history as the guy who started a Martian colony and then let them starve to death. We can rename the site "Musk-Donner Pass II" in memory of all the idiots fool enough to take that ride. And if Elon isn't dead by then, we'll figure a way to lock him up for life in some Club Fed somewhere. Actually ought to send him off to Mars, but unless he's paying for it, there are cheaper ways of dealing with that kind of stupid.

The weird thing is that there are some ways in which we are much more prudish than back in the day. When I was young, Playboy was right out there on the rack with other magazines. By the late '80s, it was in a wrapper. By the mid '90s, it was behind an opaque barrier. Then it wasn't in stores.stanky wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 4:35 pm i recall being vaguely proud of Kennedy for banging MM.

Now, magazines aren't really a thing, anyway, but the point is that even as internet port was becoming ubiquitous, more public displays of cheesecake and all things sexual was getting hidden.
A friend of mine was just talking about how, in high school, his school put on "Guys and Dolls". Let's see. One of the main characters is a stripper, and the central plot device is a man taking a woman to Cuba and getting her drunk, which lowers her inhibitions to the point where she's willing to go to bed with him. Granted, he decides to do the right thing and not take advantage of her, but I just can't see that in a high school today.
I did ask what about "Take Back the Mink"? and he said they didn't do that number.

FL and I transited through Moscow on a Bali flight years ago. Bought a Russian "Playboy" magazine in the gift shop for the hell of it, all Cyrillic characters and wrapped in clear plastic. That was after getting horny on arrival, great-looking Russian blonde in uniform frisked me at the gate.
Never opened the Russian "Playboy", gave it to my nephew months later, though he'd like it. But who 'd have guessed: tits and ass all blurred out, no fun at all.

I'm certain that's what's happening.
The trial and conviction have hardened Trumpistas' resolve to vote, while Biden's core supporters are saying "Why bother?"
The closer we get to election date, the more convinced I am Trump will win.
I wouldn't want to be Ukraine when it happens.

Well, a lot can happen between now and election day, so the situation is not without hope, but I see bad things on the horizon.

The indictment of former President Donald Trump for conduct involving the alleged concealment of hush money payments to benefit a presidential campaign raises the question whether his case is being treated like other cases. That question is fundamental to ensuring the equal application of the law and protecting free and fair elections. In this essay and accompanying table of cases (the “Table”), we analyze 17 analogous campaign finance and related prosecutions in the State of New York and nationally. Our research shows that third-party payments covertly made to benefit a candidate are routinely and successfully prosecuted as campaign finance violations in New York and elsewhere under a variety of state and federal statutes.

Re: trump off the CO ballot
Thanks for that link. I'll check it out. I've been wondering what other sorts of campaign finance issues end up getting prosecuted.
Re: trump off the CO ballot
I looked at the comparable cases from Pres Bush's link.
It's a tough sell, Pres. Most o those cases involved bribery or embezzlement.
If anyone else cares enough to read or respond, I'll offer more on it. Like, there's a table of 17 cases of prosecution for campaign finance viollations. If anyone thinks one or more of them is a good example to cite why Trump deserved to be prosecuted, I'll offer thoughts on it. To me, there are huge dierences between any of those cases cited compared to Trump's case. I'll elaborate if anyone is interested.
