Good paved road up to around 13,000 feet at the gate to Nevado del Ruiz. Only went that far today, the rain and clouds would just increase climbing a couple thousand more feet.

Alpine tundra landscape called páramo. Crazy-looking giant shrubs called frailejones (big monks) all over above a certain altitude. Delicate ecosystem pretty much unique to the northern Andes, others to try to see are on the list over te next couple months.

Weather supposed to clear somewhat soon.

you two must be in great shape. 13,000 feet is huffing and puffing for me.

looks like good fun.
those glaciers might be gone soon.

Nevado del Ruiz is a glacier-covered volcano. How far one is allowed to venture about up there is controlled, maybe we'll find out tomorrow.

Okay, I'm calling shenanigans. You're not in Colombia, you're on the planet Raxxilion IV.
If you're not on edge, you're taking up too much space.
