BTW, if you're not following rfk.jr.brain.worm on Threads, you're missing out.
If you're not on edge, you're taking up too much space.
Re: trump off the CO ballot
I think there is. I fear America could fall into something like that, but not really the way you've been talking about it.
If people believe elections are not real, they'll get behind someone who doesn't really think they're important. We might be about to elect a President who says that the last election was stolen. That's a bit scary to me.
Meanwhile, the political headline of the day is about the Maryland Democratic Senate primary. One of the candidates spent 60 million dollars. He was an established politician, currently serving in the House of Representatives. He lost.

Biden's show of resistance to Israel's nasty war just evaporated. He caved in and sent some billions of 'aid'. Seemed like a show all along. Another 61 billion to Ukraine should help to get a lot of people killed.
Funny how such numbers have lost meaning. The money is invented; created out of thin air. The bombs are real, though.
Anyone think they'll do any good?
(yes, evidently i'm an anti-Semitic, anti-vax, Putin Puppet.)
or, i don't like explosions.
fun with RFK jr.'s brain worm.
it's strange, this spoof, only because of the competition.
the whole show feels like bad comedy.

60 million dollars is more than the country of Tuvalu generates as its annual GDP.
And the guy lost... plutocracy ain't so bad after all.
Re: trump off the CO ballot
And you'd think that both sides (and the rest of us too) would learn that after time.
But we don't.
But we don't.
Re: trump off the CO ballot
It's like the human version of what the other mammals are up to. Males have to fight for mating rights. And the males have to be thinned out, violently, and regularly. Special integumented epithelium becomes weaponry; more to fight one's fellows than for protection from predation. It's deeply ingrained stuff. We'll need to keep doing it until we figure out birth and death control and a sustainable population number. After a few millennia of that peace, we'd likely need reintroduced violence to stay amused.

(I'm putting this here because it's kind of an election thread)
I had a sort of political fantasy that, if Joe Biden were actually doing it, it would be brilliant. He's not doing it, but he ought to be.
So.....here's the scheme. Imagine it's all planned in advance.
Joe and Don have agreed to debate in June. That's totally unprecedented, but why not? We know who the nominees will be. Or.....here's the fantasy part.
Joe takes the stage, and turns it into an all out personal attack. He hits below the belt at every chance. Stormy Daniels spanking. Trump University. Bankrupt casinos. Of course Trump responds in kind. The American people are of course disgusted. However, that's not the end of it. While attacking Trump at every turn, Biden constantly loses his place. He forgets words. He tells the same Trump story twice. He acts like a senile old man.
A few days later, he regretfully announces that he has to drop out of the race. He's just too old for the job.
At that point, Trump would be weakened. The American people would see the scum on display. Biden would have drawn attention to the fact that Trump is also too old for the job, and only looks good because he's standing next to Biden. No way is Trump stepping aside, so quite by surprise, the new, reasonable, Democratic candidate would look great by comparison, and would take the White House, if not easily, at least predictably.
The good news is that even though it's not their plan, it could happen without being planned
The bad news is I'm not sure there's a reasonable Democratic candidate.

Re: trump off the CO ballot
if they were reasonable, they would have ran a different candidate from the start.
Trump's fans don't seem to care how bad he looks.
Other players aren't allowed.
what a shitty show.
the trials seem like pointless distraction.
(it'd be interesting if one of them suddenly died)
can't imagine the debate...2 pathological liars; both semi-senile....like we have no adult supervision.

Re: trump off the CO ballot
It's in the jury's hands.
I would be very surprised at any result other than hung jury.
The interesting thing I find is that, really, no one around here seems to care. Sure Fox News talks about the trial as a witch hunt, while CNN analysts sagely nod while describing that the case against Trump is very, very strong. However, for the "man in the street", no one seems to care.
