Scuba diving at an altitude like Lake Titicaca is way different than diving in the ocean because of the huge difference in ambient air pressure at the surface. So the pressure differences when you ascend towards the end of your dive are greater than if you were ascending from the same depth at sea level ie you better have good control of your buoyancy because if you go up too fast the nitrogen in your body compressed from being at depth is going to expand too fast.

If the water there weren't so fucking cold maybe I'd want to check it out, really clear water, pre-Incan ruins.

There are dive tables set up for various altitudes, but I expect you know this. 16 C is 60 F and is doable in a good cold water wetsuit. Definitely not tropical water diving!

semi-synchroniously, last nite i started reading "Questioning the Millennium" by Gould.
it was on my bookshelf for years, but somehow i'd never read it.
(Or, my memory is getting that bad.)

Time interview with Trump and his plans once in office.

Christ we're fucked if he returns and has his way.

Certifiably insane. Doesn't say much for the people who vote for him.
