Can one baptise oneself? Oh, it's a pool, not a font - I've been in one of those. But I'm still not sure it would count as baptising oneself. Catholics will dip and cross themselves with holy water - I think this is pretty much the same thing, just bigger because America. The dog knows what's going on.

For Catholics, no.

Anyone can perform a baptism, but not on himself.

ETA: And the water used for baptism doesn't have to be holy water. If there's time, a priest and holy water are recommended, but if you're in a hurry, anyone and any water can do the job,

I got better.

(i,e. I was raised Catholic. I gave it up when I was 21.)

And I remember those. They gave us one in CCD class. No one seemed to take them too seriously. I remember hearing about them as the free hall pass to get into heaven, but usually expressed as a belief to make fun of,
