Re: Weather

Poor bloody Syrians also have the 'uniform syndrome' of the current regime to contend with. They're holding up what dribble of aid is headed there to do bloody paperwork for it. Meanwhile people are sleeping out in the snow! And living with nothing. I see aid is now able to get through. Bloody dece...

Whatever happened to genital crabs?
Haven't seen them in ages.
Very simple answer to that - Brazilians.

No, not the people, the near-universal trend of removing pubic hair. No pubes = no crabs.

Re: Mad, Bad, and Sad: Global

Haven't heard anything about it in Oz but i haven't heard a cow in a long time either. It was always the best day of the year at primary schools in farming areas. Girls would bring lambs, boys calves, and the oldest boys would bring a heifer. Kind of school meets agricultural show for a day. As wel...

Re: Mad, Bad, and Sad: Global

Do you guys have calf club days at school in the boonies?

It's still a thing here - kids train a calf or lamb and take them to school for a day. Great fun.

Re: Weather

Right about the News value dropping here when it turned it's eye elsewhere so to speak. You'd better hope that it won't follow the law of averages and take one of those less likely tracks matey. The latest tracks all show it hitting us dead square. While it will lose a little strength, it's not goi...

Nice! Angus is as good as it gets.

Mine was a milking heifer's calf, hence the 50/50 lineage.

Re: Weather

I imagine it stopped being news in Oz about the time they realised the central anticyclone is staying put and the cyclone would bounce straight off it. The natural path for one spawned there would be straight to north Q. The latest predictions for where it's going are on, with 28 possibilities I can...

Re: Mad, Bad, and Sad: Global

Cows are cool. They have a clearly defined social structure and are smart as hell. My favourite beast ever is a friesian/angus cross I hand-reared 40 years ago. She used to follow me like a dog and had lots of cuddles. Hated the farm cat for some reason I could never fathom. Her name was Roast Beef,...

Re: Weather

The link in that previous cyclone post just showed here as "image" . ?? Huh. I have no idea why that is, but Gray's pic is good. Also, you can see the computer modelling of its forecast track here: https://metvuw.com/forecast/forecast.php?type=rain&region=swp&noofdays=5 I love the...

Re: Weather

Ok. The cyclone I showed above is about to be named, and QLD Cyclone Bureau has a very high likelihood of getting to at least C3. It's got the Auckland bang in its sights, with the eye now predicted to be right over the city, with pressure <972 hPa, which is very nasty. That's s storm surge of over ...
