Any one else grow up with a radiometer on their window sill?

One of the great science toys. (Even though you can't play with it.)

That's the solar sail.

You are kidding.  I wasn't even allowed to play with a Meccano set.   cos girl.

First thing I ever put on my window sill was a Matchbox toy E-type Jag. But I was past being a kid by then.
I still have it and it at this second it sits on the bathroom sill.  It's probably old enough to be worth something now but I still like to look at it.  That's the only window without vertical blinds on it so the only sill available for displaying toys.

But it doesn't do anything.  I Wikied radiometer and at least it had moving parts so you're one up on that count. Wink

Yes!

Agreed.

(Who'd a thunk it...)

Sad fact is, most people who see one will never bother to learn anything about why it works. Sad
You can lead 'em to knowledge, but the attempt is rarely appreciated.
