Bow to Your Japanese Robot Masters!
#1
Google has sold off Boston Dynamics to a Japanese punter investor. Looks to me they bought an asset which cost Google around $2Bn for $100 lousy mio, which is nice work.

I can definitely see some mileage here - the military mightn't like the dogs on the grounds of being too noisy, but the cops will have their mouths watering at the prospect of grabbing some.

Skynet looms!   .. would Assimov's first Law of Robotics be ignored if those were fitted with teeth and sooled onto crims??

... silly me, of course it would.   It's science babe!!  We can! ..  therefore we must!   ... let's not go confusing science with human nature right and ethics, right? Angel

.. coffee time I think. Confused

Oh sorry Sparks.  Set onto?  Sick 'em onto?   Like dogs trained to chase down escapees.  Robot police dogs.
Didn't realise that sooled was a colloquialism.

Quote:Driverless car makers are discovering a unique problem as they begin to test the vehicles in Australia.

It turns out the unusual way that kangaroos move completely throws off the car's animal detection system.

Hell yeah - I can see why that's a problem, but roo bars will fix it.
