A headline on NZ's 2nd biggest TV station site says:

Quote:Flights cancelled, delayed 'indefinitely' due to Wellington's wild weather
Now, Wellington does indeed get a lot of very wild weather. Sitting on a break in a 3000 km long mountain rage at the confluence of two oceans, with clear pathways for wind right around the globe, or directly from Antarctica, Wellington often has to close its airport due to extreme wind. We used to call 100 km/hr wind "breezy", while nothing under 130 km/hr would keep us from fishing, so when it's dangerously windy in Wellington, it's 160 km/h - 100 mph - plus.
This time however, the "wild weather" is fog.
When respected news organisations resort to clickbait of that kind, there really isn't much hope.
Yea, that's chickening attention whoring all right.
Here at the stankerosa, we've gone from summer-like conditions, to winter, overnight.
Winter is normal now. What wasn't normal was the warm conditions.
Damn, these wild fluctuations are hard on stuff.

This wildly stable eco-system around here, is being tested in the extreme.
